Seasonal Flowers – Tulips

Tulips are one of the first flowers to come up in spring. Tulip bulbs are generally planted in fall and it is a long anticipated wait until they pop up in spring. Their brightly colored petals come in many hues and styles and their petals are known for being perfectly symmetrical. Each tulip bulb will produce only one flower, unlike some other flowers bulbs that can produce a few to many flowers. Tulips are generally a perennial which come back each year, but many growers content themselves with treating it as annual and get new bulbs every year to plant in the fall again. They are the 11th wedding anniversary flower. Fun fact, tulip petals are edible and can be used to replace onions in many recipes or even to make wine.

Don’t let these beauties go by this spring without getting yourself a bouquet, they only bloom for a few weeks.
